Congratulations It’s Asperger Syndrome
A fascinating Insight Into an Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Jen Birch was Born in 1955, and was raised in rural South Auckland, New Zealand. She was diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome as an adult quite by accident –
“I managed to grab Dr. Arnold before she left the room. We arranged a formal appointment and it became official: I have Asperger Syndrome, (a form of Autism), diagnosed at the age of 43. A lifetime burden of inadequacy, guilt, confusion and fear was lifted from me.”
This book is essential reading for anyone working with adults on the Autism Spectrum including, of course, those people who do not REALISE that they are working with individuals on the Autism Spectrum! — because at the rate of one person in every 150, world-wide, having an Autistic Spectrum or Related Disorder, all professionals are working with us, whether they know it or not.

It’s Asperger Syndrome,” (Jessica Kingsley Publishers, London, 2003); available from many libraries, Amazon.com and Jen |
Apple iPad to Teach Children with Autism or Special Needs
There is no doubt about it, the Apple iPad has an amazing range of apps for children with Autism, Special Needs or Learning Difficulties. We have been teaching Isy maths and numeracy quite successfully using an Apple iPad and an app called Maths Bingo – watch the video demo here. There are literally hundreds of apps specifically designed for special education.
DMG Dimethylglycine (Pangamic Acid)
DMG is an amino acid that is found in some foods naturally such as red meat, some grains and legumes. It is closely linked to B15 and it increases Pangamic Acid production in the body. There is evidence to suggest that DMG provides benefits for many individuals with autistic spectrum disorders.
We have personally used DMG for a number of years to treat Isy. We noticed a difference, she seemed to be calmer, eye contact improved, stimming decreased and her language seemed to improve.
For more information on DMG and it’s use in the treatment of Autism see this post: DMG and Autism
